I was drawing a blank on what to write in my first blog so I thought I’d start by introducing myself so you get to know the person behind the words.
I’m Ellen Cotter, aged 19 great years. A writer at heart and have been since the first day I held a pencil. Singer, music lover, film buff, musician, artist, and traveller (not in the caravan sense but in the been a lot of places sense) are just a few labels I’d adhere to myself.
I love music of all kinds, from folk to rock, you name it I’ll have it on my Ipod. I play piano and sing (not always in key but I’m passionate about it). I have a love for art and have done since I was small. I’m particularly fond of Surrealism and drawing. I’m the kind of person who doodles on the corners of her work and sketches when I’m supposed to be working.
Reading is a huge part of my life and I will happily lose myself in a good book. I’m a sucker for the classics and aim to read as many books as I can before I kick that bucket. I’m also a bit of a movie buff and theatre goer. I’m particularly proud of my gift to be able to guess a film in the first thirty seconds. I also love the atmosphere of the theatre, the murmur of excited people, the silence, and the way it can feel like you’re the only one in the whole place.
My main aim in life is have my name in a byline on the front page of some famous newspaper some day, and to have a few best selling novels under my belt. I can’t say I don’t aim high. I am currently writing a book which I may post my progress on in future blogs.
So I think that’s me in a nutshell…well apart from the fact that I’m bubbly, smiley, and a little crazy (in the good way, I think)
I’ll keep you posted 🙂
